Captain Joey Miller, owner and master craftsman behind Sinepuxent Boatworks on Maryland’s Eastern Shore, is preserving a proud maritime tradition through his passion for handcrafted wooden boats. Specializing in classic “Wood Plank on Frame” construction, Captain Miller builds custom Carolina and Deadrise-style boats that honor the heritage of the Chesapeake Bay and North Carolina coastlines.

A lifelong waterman with deep roots in the Eastern Shore community, Joey combines decades of experience on the water with exceptional woodworking skill. Every boat he builds is a unique reflection of time-tested design and craftsmanship, purpose-built for both beauty and performance. In 2023, he completed a stunning 28-foot Carolina-style boat that showcases his attention to detail and deep understanding of marine form and function.

This particular build exemplifies the Carolina style with its high freeboard and signature bow flare, providing an impressively dry and stable ride even in rough waters.
